G. 652.D single mode optical fiber is designed specially for optical transmission systems operating over the entire wavelength window from 1260nm to 1625nm. By suppressing the water peak that occurs near 1383nm in conventional single mode fibre due to hydroxyl (OH-) ions absorption, the fiber is able to open E-band (1360-1460nm) for operation, and consequently provides 100nm more usable wavelengths. It optimizes attenuation and dispersion across the entire wavelength window from 1260nm to 1625nm, also reduces bending loss at L-band (1565nm~1625nm), and provides bandwidth resources for trunk, metropolitan area and access network.

Bending-loss insensitive single-mode optical fiber bears the entire characteristics of non-dispersion shifted single-mode optical fiber and superior bending performance, which is applicable to transmission over entire wavelength from 1260 nm to 1625 nm. Under the condition of long wave band, the bending radius could be as small as 10mm.

G.657A2 bears the entire characteristics of non-dispersion shifted single-mode optical fiber and superior bending performance, which is applicable to transmission over entire wavelength from 1260nm to 1625nm. It has low macro-bending loss and even with the bending radius of 7.5mm，and the macro-bending loss at 1625nm is only 0.8 dB.
