Description
This long-span customized double-jacket ADSS optical fiber cable is a high-performance all-dielectric communication cable designed for long-span aerial laying scenarios (no metallic components, avoiding lightning strike and electromagnetic interference risks).
The double-jacket structure is customized to enhance mechanical strength, environmental resistance and wear resistance, and the core count is flexible (2–288 core) to meet the diversified bandwidth requirements of long-distance trunk communication, power system dispatching, and large-scale industrial park networking.
It integrates the advantages of self-supporting aerial laying (no need for additional steel catenary), all-dielectric insulation, and long-span mechanical bearing capacity, and is a customized solution for harsh aerial laying environments and long-span crossing needs.
Features
It can be installed directly on the poles or towers without additional support wire.
Self-supporting structure reduces costs, easy for installation and maintenance
All-dielectric no-metal components, anti-lightning strike, anti-electromagnetic/radio frequency interference, safe for laying near high-voltage lines;
Light weight and small diameter reducing the load caused by ice and wind
Large span length and the largest span is up to 800 meters
Good tensile strength and temperature performance
Application
The double sheathed ADSS cable is a customized long-span aerial communication solution for 2–288 core bandwidth needs, suitable for all-scenario aerial laying without metallic support, with core application fields covering power system, public communication, industrial and municipal networking, especially for long-span crossing scenarios. Specific applications are as follows:
Power System Communication
Public Telecommunication Trunk Network
Industrial and Large-Scale Park Networking
Municipal and Cross-Regional Communication

Cable Structure
ADSS Double Jacket
ADSS cable Cross Section
The structure is optimized for long-span stress bearing and environmental protection, with a double-jacket + reinforced all-dielectric strength member core design; each layer is tailored to the 2–288 core count and long-span laying requirements, the specific layered structure (from inside to outside) is as follows:
Optical Fiber Unit (2–288 Core)
Fiber Core type: Single-mode (SMF G.652D/G.657A1/A2, mainstream for long-distance communication) or multi-mode (OM3/OM4, for short-distance high-speed transmission); core arrangement is loose tube stranding to ensure fiber microbending resistance and mechanical protection.
Loose tube material: High-modulus PBT (polybutylene terephthalate), filled with waterproof compound to prevent water ingress and buffer fiber stress from temperature change/mechanical stretching.
Cable Core Water Blocking Layer
Wrapped with water-blocking tape and filled with water-blocking yarn around the loose tube unit, forming a full-section water-blocking structure to prevent longitudinal water seepage and protect optical fibers from moisture erosion in outdoor harsh environments.
All-Dielectric Central Strength Member (CSM) / Tensile Reinforcement Layer
Customized high-strength FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) and aramid yarn (Kevlar) as the main strength member: FRP provides rigid tensile support, aramid yarn offers flexible high tensile strength and impact resistance.
The strength member is centrally placed or symmetrically arranged to bear the main tensile stress of long-span aerial laying (resist wind load, ice load, self-weight tension), ensuring no fiber strain under long-span conditions.
Inner Jacket (First Protection Layer)
Material: medium-density polyethylene (MDPE) with anti-UV and anti-aging additives; tightly extruded on the cable core to fix the strength member and optical fiber unit, and provide primary protection against mechanical wear and environmental corrosion.
Thickness: Customized according to long-span stress and laying environment (0.8–1.5mm), ensuring adhesion with the cable core and no delamination with the outer jacket.
Outer Jacket (Second Protection Layer)
Material: Special anti-abrasion/anti-ozone HDPE or LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) (customizable for fireproof scenarios); added with high-content carbon black (≥2.0%) for UV resistance, suitable for long-term outdoor exposure.
Function: The double-jacket structure forms a "dual protection barrier"—resists aerial friction (with poles, cross-arms), animal gnawing, chemical corrosion (industrial area), and extreme temperature change (-40℃ to +70℃); the outer jacket is also designed with a smooth surface to reduce wind resistance (critical for long-span anti-wind load).
Optional Extruded Layers/Markings
Anti-tracking layer: Customized for high-altitude/high-humidity areas (e.g., coastal, rainy areas) to prevent surface electric tracking and aging;
Marking: Print core count, model, manufacturer, laying direction on the outer jacket for on-site construction and maintenance (can be customized).
Higher strength member ratio: Increase aramid fiber/FRP content to improve the cable’s ultimate tensile strength (UTS) and elastic modulus, adapting to long-span tension (span length can be customized from 100m to 800m according to load requirements);
Thicker double jacket: Optimize inner/outer jacket thickness ratio for long-span dynamic load (wind/ice vibration) resistance;
Reinforced loose tube: Thicker PBT loose tube wall to prevent fiber damage from long-term micro-stretching.
