GYTC8S is an outdoor optical fiber cable for communication designed with a metal-reinforced strength member (steel wire), loose tube layer-stranded with filling, steel-polyethylene bonded sheath, and figure-8 self-supporting structure (stranded steel messenger wire + cable body).
Model definition:
"GY" : Outdoor communication use
"T" : Loose tube filled with gel, cable filled with filler and water-blocking material

Fiber core: Single-mode or multi-mode fibers are placed in loose tubes made of high-modulus polyester material, and the tubes are filled with waterproof compounds.
CSM: The center of the cable core is a metal central strength member, usually a phosphated steel wire, which has the characteristics of high modulus and corrosion resistance.
Cable Core: The loose tubes and filling ropes are stranded around the central strength member to form a compact circular cable core, and the gaps in the cable core are filled with water-blocking fillers.
Armor layer: The cable core is longitudinally wrapped with a plastic-coated steel tape (PSP)
Outer Sheath: After the armor layer, the cable core is integrated with stranded steel wires into an 8-shaped polyethylene sheath to form the cable.
Good Mechanical Performance: The steel stranded wire is used as the self-supporting member, which can meet the extremely high tensile strength. At the same time, the steel tape longitudinally wrapping the cable core gives the cable a certain lateral pressure resistance and bulletproof ability.
Excellent Temperature Characteristics: The loose tube material itself has good hydrolysis resistance and high strength, and the special gel filled in the tube provides key protection for the fiber, enabling the cable to work normally in the temperature range of -40°C to +70°C.
Reliable Waterproof Performance: Through measures such as a single steel wire central strength member, special waterproof compound filled in the loose tube, complete cable core filling, and plastic-coated steel tape, the good waterproof performance of the cable is ensured.
Self-supporting Construction: The 8-shaped self-supporting structure eliminates the need for an additional steel strand during erection, which can improve the construction speed and reduce installation cost, easy for mantainence.
GYTC8S FIG8 Outdoor Optical Fiber Cable is suitable for the core network, metropolitan area network, and access network. It is mainly used for self-supporting overhead laying, as well as for long-distance communication and inter-office communication.
GYTC8S: Anti-crush, anti-rodent, anti-side pressure, suitable for roadside, wild, suburban areas with animal damage risk
GYTC8Y: Non-armored, lighter, lower cost, for urban areas with good protection against rodents and external impact
Standard messenger is galvanized stranded steel wire (7-wire stranded structure). Custom high-strength single steel messenger is also available for longer span projects.
Conventional span range: 50m–150m.
Longer spans (150–200m) require customized thicker steel messenger wire.
GYTC8S steel messenger wire is conductive, cannot be used near high-voltage power lines (induction risk).
