GYXTC8S is a self-supporting aerial fiber cable with a figure-8 structure. It uses a single steel wire or stranded steel wires as the self-supporting member and is armored with a steel tape, which provides good mechanical protection and tensile strength. It is suitable for long-distance communication and inter-office communication, and can be used in outdoor environments with a temperature range of -40℃ to +70℃.
The 2-24 fibers are positioned in a central loose tube made of high-modulus plastic and filled with tube gel. The water-blocking compound is applied around the central unitube. Then the tube is armored with a corrugated steel tape (CST) longitudinally. Stranded steel wires are applied as the messenger. Finally, a figure-8 PE outer jacket is extruded.
| Component Name | Material | Function |
| Optical Fiber Core | Single Mode (e.g. G652D/G657A1) or Multi Mode (OM3, OM4) optical fibers | Transmit optical signal |
| Central Loose Tube | made of high-modulus plastic materials, such as PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) | The loose tube is filled with thixotropic gel to protect the optical fibers from external stress and moisture. |
| Armor layer | Corrugated Steel Tape | Provides moisture-proof and water-blocking effects, rodent resistence. |
| Self-supporting Part | a single steel wire or stranded steel wires | Self-supporting member, easy for aerial laying, without installing additional messenger wire |
| Outer Sheath | FIG8 shaped sheath, made of PE (polyethylene) | good corrosion resistance and weather resistance. |

GYXTC8S Structure Diagram
Figure-8 structure design, small diameter and light weight, easy for self-supporting aerial installation, reducing installation costs.
Excellent Optical Performance: The optical fibers (e.g. G652.D) have low transmission loss and low dispersion, which can ensure high-quality optical signal transmission.
Good Mechanical Performance: Through reasonable design and precise control of the fiber excess length in the loose tube, the cable has excellent mechanical properties. The stranded steel wire as the self-supporting member has a very high tensile strength, and the steel tape armor has strong pressure resistance and rodent resistance.
Good Environmental Performance: The cable has good waterproof and moisture-proof performance. The hot-melt adhesive bonding between the steel tape and the loose tube ensures that there is no retraction of the loose tube after the cable is laid, and the cable has excellent flexibility and bending resistance, which can adapt to different environmental conditions.
FTTH Aerial Access Networks
Overhead fiber distribution from optical distribution points (ODP) to residential buildings, villages and individual subscribers, especially areas without underground pipe ducts.
Metro & Rural Local Telecommunication Networks
Short & medium-span overhead trunk lines for county, town and village communication backbone.
CATV & Integrated Access Systems
Hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) cable TV aerial transmission, supporting data, voice and video triple-play services.
Campus, Park & Industrial Park Private Networks
Self-support overhead fiber connection between buildings without pole auxiliary strands.
Monitoring & Smart City Projects
Outdoor aerial fiber links for traffic surveillance, environmental monitoring and public security camera transmission.
Standard range is 2 to 24 cores. For fiber counts over 24 cores, please choose layer-stranded figure 8 aerial cables like GYTC8S.
No. The cable integrates a 7-strand galvanized steel messenger wire in one-piece figure-8 sheath, which bears all suspension tension. No separate support strand is required, saving fittings and construction time.
High crush resistance against external extrusion;
Anti-rodent bite protection in rural, mountain and wild areas;
Radial waterproof barrier to block moisture penetration.
Static bending radius (fixed laying): ≥10× cable outer diameter; Dynamic bending radius (pulling, winding): ≥20× cable outer diameter.
GYXTC8S: Built-in steel messenger, lower cost, small fiber count (2–24 cores), for short-span access network;
ADSS: All-dielectric self-support, no metal inside, for high-voltage power line crossing, large fiber counts, long-span backbone.
