GJYXFHA/GJYXFHS armored duct drop (bow-type) fiber optic cables are designed for FTTH (Fiber to the Home) access networks. With a butterfly-shaped cable core (GJXFH drop cable), parallel strength members (FRP) on both sides, longitudinal aluminum/steel tape cladding, and an MDPE/HDPE outer sheath, they feature easy stripping, excellent tensile resistance, and moisture/water blocking properties, making them suitable for duct installation and short-distance direct burial.
Typical Structure of Armored Duct Bow-type Drop Cable (GJYXFHS/A):
The typical GJYXFHA/ GJYXFHS duct bow-type drop optical fiber cable is composed of one GJXFH cable in the middle and two Non-metallic strength members (FRP) on both sides, longitudinal wrapped by aluminum tape / steel tape and then PE sheath is extruded outside.
Middle GJXFH cable construction: the optical fiber unit is positioned in the center, two parallel FRP as strength members are placed at both sides, then a LSZH jacket.
GJYXFHA: Non-metallic strength members + aluminum tape for moisture protection
GJYXFHS: Non-metallic strength members + steel tape armoring
Both belong to the "duct-use drop (bow/butterfly-type)" cable structure, compliant with relevant telecom fiber optic cable standards.
| Layer | Composition & Function |
| 1. Central Butterfly Cable Core | GJXFH cable, 1–4 cores of G.657.A bend-insensitive fiber, supports small-radius bending, facilitating on-site termination. |
| 2. Parallel Strength Members | Two parallel strength cores (non-metallic FRP) placed symmetrically on both sides of the optical unit. Enhances lateral pressure resistance and tensile capacity. |
| 3. Water-Blocking Tape | Wrapped around the core to prevent longitudinal water penetration. |

Features of Duct Drop Fiber Cable GJYXFHS/A:
Equipped with G.657.A bend-insensitive fiber, it supports a minimum bending radius of 5 mm (static) and 10 mm (dynamic). This allows flexible routing in narrow spaces (e.g., indoor corners, wall cavities) without signal loss.
The bow-shaped sheath has a built-in easy-peel groove. No special tools are required for stripping; the sheath can be split manually to expose the fiber, significantly simplifying on-site termination (e.g., connecting to SC/LC connectors for FTTH user ports).
Mechanical Performance: Typical indices (varies by core count):
Long-term tensile strength: ~300 N; Short-term tensile strength: ~600 N.
Lateral pressure resistance: ~300 N/100 mm (long-term); ~1000 N/100 mm (short-term).
Environmental Adaptability: Operating temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, with HDPE sheath resisting UV aging and rain erosion. Suitable for harsh outdoor (duct) and indoor environments.
Applications:
Duct Branch Cabling: Used for FTTH drop connections in inter-building ducts, residential community pipelines, basements, and vertical shafts (connecting backbone cables to building entrances).
Short-Distance Direct Burial: GJYXFHS (with steel tape armoring) is preferred for short-distance direct burial scenarios (e.g., across small green areas or roads) or sections vulnerable to mechanical damage.
Indoor-Outdoor Transition: Can be paired with self-supporting bow-type cables (e.g., GJYXFCH) to form an integrated "aerial → duct → in-home" cabling solution, adapting to diverse FTTH deployment needs.
Moisture Resistance Priority: Select GJYXFHA (APL armor). Aluminum tape provides excellent moisture barrier performance, suitable for humid duct environments (e.g., underground ducts in rainy areas).
Higher Mechanical Protection: Select GJYXFHS (PSP armor). Steel tape offers stronger lateral pressure resistance and anti-rodent capability, ideal for crowded ducts or areas with rodent infestations.
Indoor Safety: For indoor segments (e.g., from building entrance to user home), choose models with non-metallic strength members (suffix "F") (e.g., GJYXHFA/GJYXHFS) to avoid lightning-induced current or strong electric field hazards.
Core Count & Termination: 1–4 cores are the most common (sufficient for single-user or multi-user shared access). For high-density applications (e.g., office buildings), opt for fiber ribbon models (suffix "D") to increase core count.
