Description:
This type GYFXTY fiber optic cable is a specialized all-dielectric communication cable designed with anti-rodent protection (via glass yarn), unitube structure, and compatibility with both aerial and duct deployment scenarios, supporting 2–24 optical fiber cores for medium and short-distance communication transmission.
It is an all-dielectric, single-tube (unitube) fiber optic cable that integrates glass yarn as a core anti-rodent component, eliminating the need for metal reinforcements or armor. It is optimized for 2–24 fiber cores, balancing transmission capacity and deployment flexibility, and can be laid in aerial (non-self-supporting) and duct (underground or pipeline) environments. It is widely used in scenarios where metal components are restricted (to avoid electromagnetic interference) and rodent damage risks are high.
The 2-24 fibers are positioned in a central PBT loose tube which is filled with tube gel. The tube is longitudinally reinforced by Glass Yarn and Water-bloking Yarn. Finally the cable is completed with a polyethylene (PE) or LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) sheath.
| Layer | Component and Function |
| 1. Optical Fiber Core | The core part consists of 2–24 single-mode (SM) or multimode (MM) optical fibers (typically G.652D single-mode fibers for general communication, or G.657A for bend-insensitive demands). |
| 2. Central Loose Tube | The unitube made of PBT is filled with thixotropic water-blocking gel, which wraps the colored fibers to prevent water intrusion into the tube, protect the fibers from moisture corrosion, and buffer external micro-bending forces. |
| 3. Anti-Rodent strength member | A dense layer of high-strength, hard glass yarn is wrapped around the central tube. Rodents (such as rats, mice, and squirrels) cannot chew through the sharp, brittle glass yarn, which effectively blocks their gnawing and avoids fiber breakage caused by rodent damage. |
| 4. Outer Sheath | The outermost layer is an LSZH (low-smoke zero-halogen) or PE sheath. It is resistant to UV radiation, aging, and chemical corrosion, and integrates water-blocking function (some designs add water-blocking tape between the strength member and outer sheath) to further protect the internal structure from the external environment. |

All-Dielectric Design: No metallic components, immune to EMI, lightning, and corrosion;
Glass Yarn Anti-Rodent: Physical barrier against rodent damage without toxic additives.
Loose Tube Gel-Filled: Protects fibers from stress, temperature fluctuations, and moisture; maintains signal integrity.
High Mechanical Performance: non-metallic strength members glass yarn deliver tensile (1000–1500 N short-term) and crush resistance; small diameter (~7.0 mm) and light weight (~50 kg/km) for easy handling.
Environmental Durability: UV-resistant sheath; operating temperature: −40 °C to +70 °C; compliant with IEC 60794-1
Compact & Efficient: Central tube design with high fiber packing density; minimizes tube shrinkage and installation space.
Applications:
Aerial Installations: Lashed to messenger wires in power corridors, mountainous, or lightning-prone areas.
Duct & Conduit: Indoor/outdoor ducts, microducts, and access networks (FTTH, FTTB).
Sensitive Environments: High-voltage zones, industrial EMI areas, and locations requiring corrosion resistance and no grounding.
Urban & Campus Networks: Backbone and distribution links in MANs, campus networks, and fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) deployments.
